Context:      2012 academic individual work in Design VII, during Erasmus scholarschip at ETSAB.

Challenge:  Extension of Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art

                    Conversion and Rehabilitation of Misericordia Church

 

Proposal:    The conversion from a  closed, introverted space of a church, into a volume in direct relation with the urban surroundings, will be achieved with  vertical openings between the counterforts. The main concept is to maintain the ecclesiastic form intact and place all the equipments and circulations a museum needs into a separate attached volume.  The glass screen is a refracting background for the historical environment and a permeable layer for the visitors.
